Insider Look: Wharton Center’s 2019-2020 Season Subscription

By Maya Kleinsorge

I have been a dancer since I was a tiny little four-year-old – this is where my love for all things performing arts started. My first Broadway theatre experience was here at Wharton Center when I turned 16. On my birthday, my mom sent me on a scavenger hunt around our whole property (which is 13 acres of pure forest) to reveal to me that we were going to see the one and only, Wicked! Since that experience, I have always kept up with what is coming through this amazing venue.

I am now 19 years old, and every season at Wharton Center just gets better and better in my opinion. The 2019-20 season is no exception. If you’re like me and you want it all, then a season subscription is the way to go. It’s a special price, it’s efficient, and it will satisfy all your performing arts needs.

Did you say special price?

Those who purchase a season package get up to 20% off regular ticket prices. That’s like getting to see a show or two for FREE! Who would have thought seeing the “loverly” My Fair Lady for such a low price would be possible? Life with a Wharton Center subscription package is way more fun. Choose to be inspired by Joshua Bell and Academy of St Martin in the Fields AND moved by Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s performance of The Wizard of Oz.

Amazing new shows and exciting, reimagined returns

Experience Wharton Center in a way you never have before through the 2019-20 Broadway season, featuring Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen and Disney’s Aladdin. These are all new shows that will leave you blown away. The new production of My Fair Lady, with a feminist eye, and Cameron Mackintosh’s reimagined Les Misérables are sights to see, as well . . . and you can experience them through the Broadway package. Once you’ve got those five shows on lock with a season package, you can add on Wicked or one of the many different Performing Arts events, and you will receive a discount on those tickets, too. For me, I’m dying to see the extravagant Aladdin, but maybe it’s the powerful Japanese Taiko drummers, TAO, that you’re interested in seeing.

No one can turn down some good ol’ benefits.

Wait, there’s more! Not only do you get award-winning shows and specially discounted subscriber pricing — you get priority seating, discounts on additional tickets you may be interested in purchasing later (perhaps you want to see the beautiful Parsons Dance ensemble, and you already bought the Broadway series package), and even more discounts at local retailers and restaurants with your Wharton Center Subscriber Discount Card.
