Broadway sweetheart. Two-time Tony Award® winner. TV star. It is hard to encompass all that Sutton Foster is. Her talent is impeccable and has taken the entertainment industry by storm…not only on Broadway but also on television, where she is currently starring on TV Land’s Younger.
Sutton has taken every role and made it her own. She’s had the pleasure to originate roles like Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Janet Van de Graaf in The Drowsy Chaperone that Broadway lovers now associate with Sutton’s strong voice and impressive tap breaks. Janet and Millie are characters who couldn’t be more different: Millie, an aspiring New Yorker looking for a world greater than Kansas; and Janet, a showgirl turned bride who realizes her power after leaving the stage. This versatility is why we love Sutton Foster, and you should, too.
In an ode to the goddess that is Sutton Foster, we took a stroll down memory lane to look at some of her favorite Broadway roles through the power of makeup: her 2011 reprisal of Reno Sweeny in Anything Goes and her 2008 originated role of Fiona in Shrek the Musical. Wharton Center Marketing Intern Emily shows you how to create these looks to celebrate all things Sutton.
